Prama Welness Center

The Prama Institute & Wellness Center presents a comprehensive 10-day juice cleanse and yoga retreat in the beautiful Appalachian mountains of Marshall, North Carolina. This extended retreat is the best option for those seeking a thorough wellness detox experience with multiple benefits — including cleansing the digestive system, eliminating toxins, revitalizing the mind, and improving all-around physical and spiritual wellbeing. The program is built on the tested Prama Wellness Method, which combines juice cleansing, a plant-based diet, yoga, meditation, Ayurvedic lifestyle strategies, and stress reduction techniques.

During the retreat, participants eat detoxifying fruits and vegetables for 4 days and juice for 6 days. For many, this extended format is one of the best ways to experience faster weight loss, as the 10-day structure offers all the resources and techniques needed to make significant, lasting lifestyle changes. Personalized Ayurvedic consultations are available for an additional fee for those who wish to dive deeper into optimizing their health or work on healing a specific issue.

A special focus of the 10-day retreat is gut microbiome health. There are millions of microorganisms in our digestive system that help maintain the wellbeing of our bodies, collectively known as the gut microbiome. This retreat includes information and treatment designed to help restore balance in the microbiome, thereby supporting the immune system and improving overall health.

Your Facilitators

The retreat is led by a team of four experienced practitioners. Ramesh Bjonnes is the Director of the Prama Wellness Center, where lifestyle is considered the best medicine. A writer, yogi, and workshop leader, Ramesh studied yoga therapy in Nepal and India, Ayurveda at the California College of Ayurveda, and is a certified yoga detox therapist from the AM Wellness program.

Radhika Banu is a certified sound meditation and wellness practitioner who has been deeply inspired by the transformative power of sacred sounds since childhood. She has studied under some of the most renowned teachers in the field and brings her daily practice of sound exploration to the retreat.

Margaret Kirschner is a yoga teacher at the Prama Institute. She is a Certified Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Therapist (E-RYT 500, C-IAYT), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Spiritual Emergence Mentor, Peer Support Specialist, and Breathwork Facilitator. Margaret supports individuals in learning to listen to and trust their bodies with curiosity and compassion.

Kimber King is an Ayurvedic health coach and yoga teacher who helps people steward their health through faith, rhythm, and integrity. Kimber’s journey into holistic health began in 2014 after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. After being let down by conventional medicine, she experienced healing that reshaped her life and led her to this path.

What’s Included

The retreat package covers 9 nights of accommodation on Prama’s secluded mountain campus. On juicing days, participants receive 3 daily nutritious, cleansing, organic juices and broths. Delicious, light plant-based meals are provided for the first and last meals to gently transition the digestive system into and out of the cleanse. Enema kits and mud packs for skin cleansing are included, along with unlimited access to the cedar sauna throughout the stay.

The program features daily yoga classes and daily meditation classes suitable for all levels, as well as specialized workshops on diet, nutrition, digestion, fasting, Ayurveda, and reintegration into daily life after the cleanse. Group sharing and support sessions create a sense of community, while evening workshops and activities may include yoga nidra meditations, sound baths, and movie screenings.

Group sizes are kept small — a maximum of 16 participants — to ensure personalized connection and guidance from the facilitators. Participants also enjoy access to forest trails and nature hikes with a trusted guide, free parking, Wi-Fi in all facilities, and water and detoxifying teas served throughout the day.

Optional add-ons include personalized one-on-one wellness consultations with Ramesh and massages, both available for an extra fee.
