Ánanda Karnika

Ánanda Karnika Yoga Retreat Center

Ánanda Karnika is a yoga retreat center tucked into the forested hills near Gosan in Wanju, Jeonbuk, South Korea, beside a quiet reservoir. It runs small-group residential retreats built around yoga twice a day, guided meditation, conscious breathing, organic vegetarian meals or fresh juices, practical workshops, and unhurried time in nature. Its two main programs are a Yoga Detox & Juice Cleanse Retreat, designed as a guided physical reset, and a Yoga & Meditation Retreat focused on deeper rest and building a sustainable personal practice. Both welcome complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners.

The retreats are led by Dada Yogánanda, a UK-born yogic monk and meditation teacher since 1995 who trained in naturopathy and has been based at Ánanda Suruci in Taiwan since 2009, where he helped develop bilingual detox and meditation retreats.

The center is a project of Ánanda Márga (“Path of Bliss”) and also serves as a Master Unit, a rural initiative meant to model balanced development through health, education, ecology, community service, and care for all living beings. Guests of any culture, faith, or experience level are welcome, and there’s no expectation of adopting a particular religion

Accommodation includes shared, double, and private rooms, with a dedicated yoga and meditation space, free parking, and optional pickup from Jeonju.
